Chat Code of Conduct

By using the FlowAlgo chat room, you are agreeing to all of the rules outlined below:

14-Day Probation Period
All new users undergo a 14-day probation period before they are allowed to participate in the chat. This is so everyone can take the time to review our help center and to cut down on common questions within the chat that may have already been answered. Please take the time to review our learning resources and help center if you haven’t already done so.

Our Dashboard Overview Guide is great start.

1) Be Kind and Respectful of Others.
No personal attacks or harassment will be tolerated. Do not harass, argue, insult, troll, or use demeaning or offensive language. Refrain from swearing, discussing politics, religion, race, sex, or anything not related to the markets. Avoid policing others or direct confrontations with abusive users. Remain humble and do not target others that may not be as experienced as you. If someone is being abusive, please report them to us and they will be muted.

2) No Off-Topic Chatter During Market Hours (8AM-4:15PM ET).
Trade ideas, entries/exits, market headlines, market commentary, charts, watchlist’s, observations, and data are all welcome. Anything shared should be in the benefit of others. Everyone is encouraged to contribute.

3) Don’t Push Your Position On Others.
You are free to share your position, your entries, exits, opinions, observations, but do not push your position to others or suggest that others follow. Please specify your reasoning behind any ideas where possible.

4) Don’t Bash the Position or Trading Style of Others.
There is more than one way to make money in the market and your way is not the only way. If you disagree with someone’s style, position, opinion, please only respond in a respectful way or keep it to yourself.

5) Don’t Spread Fake News.
Purposely posting fake headlines, manipulated screenshots, or rumors is strictly prohibited. Include a source wherever possible which may be abbreviated or a link. If something being shared is a rumor, please specify it as such or notate it as being unconfirmed.

6) Don’t Spam.
Don’t spam messages or post back-to-back one liners. Post as much of your message as possible within a single post so you don’t flood the chat.

7) Don’t Post Inappropriate Images at Any Time.
The use of images is strictly for sharing charts, data, and info-graphics. Please keep things professional. Do not post gifs, memes, or anything that may be distracting to other users. Sharing of any NSFW(not-safe-for-work) or profane content is strictly prohibited.

8) Don’t Solicit Users.
Do not share or promote your own for-profit, paid, non-public services or websites that you are affiliated with. Do not promote, share, discuss, or suggest the use of competing services or trading groups within the community. The use of the chat to solicit members for any reason is prohibited.

9) Copyrighted Material.
Don’t share premium(paid) data from external sources including screenshots, non-public links, documents, or copyrighted material which you don’t solely own, have permission to, or are licensed to redistribute.

10) Don’t Post in All CAPS.
Do not use all caps other than for stock SYMBOLS or market headlines.

11) Be Responsible of Your Own Positions and Actions.
Do not rely on other users. Do not blindly follow the positions of any users without accepting complete responsibility for any outcome. Information provided and opinions expressed within the chat do not constitute investment advice and should not be taken as such.

12) Privacy.
Please do not share any personal information in the chat room including phone numbers, addresses, or any other personally identifiable information. Anything posted in the chat room is viewable by everyone.

Violations/Blocking Users/Other.
Violating any of the chat rules will result in a 24 hour ban without warning. Continued violation will result in an indefinite ban from participating in the chat room. The public chat is not intended for customer support. For customer support, please contact us via the chat bubble on your account settings page. If you wish to disable the chat altogether or block specific users, you can do so from your account settings page.

Brent	Brent Crude Oil is the global benchmark of crude oil.

Buy Stop	A buy stop order instructs a broker to purchase a security when it reaches a pre-specified price.
Cable	Slang term for the exchange rate between the USD and the British pound sterling. USD/GBP
Catalyst	An event or other news that is likely to influence and accelerate a stocks movement.
CC	Conference Call
Commons	Common stock/shares.
C&H	Cup and handle technical pattern
Dark Pool Level	Price level where Dark Pools have been active. Expected line of support/resistance.
DAX	An index of 30 blue chip German companies listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
DB	Double Bottom
DBD	Drop-Base-Drop.
DBR	Drop-Base-Rally.
Dead Cat	A temporary recovery in price from a prolonged decline that is followed by the continuation of the downtrend.
Delta	The rate of change in the price of an option contract per change in the price of the underlying’s stock price. (?)
Demand Zone	Area where buyers are lined up.
D/G	Downgrade
Dove	Dovish. Doves are members who vote for looser monetary policy. Keeping interest rates low with the aim of boosting economic growth.
DP	Dark Pool
DT	Day Trade, Downtrend, or Double Top.
DTL	Downtrend resistance line
ECB	European Central Bank. The central bank for the European Union.
EOD	End of day
EOW	End of week
EPS	Earnings Per Share
ER	Earnings
ES	E-Mini S&P 500 Futures
EXDIV	A stock that is trading without the value of the next dividend payment.
Exposure	The total amount of possible risk at any given point or the total market value of your open trades.
FA	Fundamental Analysis, or FlowAlgo.
FAANG	Large-cap technology leaders. FB, AMZN, AAPL, NFLX, GOOGL
Fat Finger	An order input error whereby an order to buy or sell is placed of far greater size than intended or a data error.

FOK	Fill-or-Kill (?)
FOMC	Federal Open Market Committee
FOMO	Fear of Missing Out
FUD	Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt.

Golden	Our coined term for a newly opened aggressive sweep order that now dominates the open interest of a contract.
Hawk	Hawkish. Hawks are members who vote for tighter monetary policy. Meaning higher interest rates with the aim of keeping inflation in check.
Hedge	Insurance/Protection
HFT	High frequency trading
H&S	Head and shoulders technical pattern
HOD	High of Day
IMO	In My Opinion
IHS	Inverse Head and Shoulders technical pattern
IPO	Initial Public Offering
ISO	Intermarket Sweep. Order type that sweeps several different market centers and scoops up as many shares as possible from them all.
ITM	In the money
IV	Implied volatility
Liquidity	The ease with which an asset, or security, can be converted into cash without affecting its market price.
LOD	Low of day
LOTTO	A high risk, high reward trade that is generally stop-less.

Margin Call	A demand from a broker for more money to be put into a margin account.

NBBO	National Best Bid and Offer
NFP	Non-Farm Payrolls
NHOD	New High of Day
NQ	E-Mini Nasdaq-100 Futures
OI	Open Interest
O/N	Overnight or the Overnight Futures Session

Pin/Pinning	The tendency of an underlying security’s market price to close at or very near to the strike price of heavily traded options (in the same security) as the expiration time nears.

Quad Witch	A date on which stock index futures, stock index options, stock options, and single stock futures expire simultaneously. (?)
RBR	Rally-Base-Rally. The opposite of DBD.
REBAL	Rebalancing (?)
RES	Resistance
Roll	Rolling an option position up in strike, out in expiration, or both.
R/G	Red to Green
R/R	Risk Versus Reward
RS	Relative Strength (?)
Runner	A small portion of a profitable position left to “run” after the majority of profits have been taken on a position.
Run Up	The tendency of a stock to move up in price into an anticipated or known event.
Scalp	A very short term trade generally lasting under an hour.
Signature Print	Late reported dark pool orders most commonly seen on SPY.
SL	Stop Loss
SMA	Simple Moving Average
SPEC	A speculative bet that is often in anticipation of news, rumors, leaks, an acquisition, or an unknown catalyst. The buyer may or may not be “informed”. Generally not a technical driven position.
SPOOZ	S&P500 Futures, ES
STC	Sell to Close
STO	Sell to Open
SUP	Support
Supply Zone	Area where sellers are lined up.
Sweeper	Aggressive option buyer with urgency behind their manner of entry.
Swing	A Multi-day or Week Trade.
TA	Technical Analysis
Tied	An option order that may be tied to a stock position.
Thin Market	A low number of buyers and sellers.
TGT	Target Price
TOS	Think or Swim, trading platform.
Triple Witch	The simultaneous expiration of stock options, stock index futures and stock index option contracts all occurring on the same day. (?)
Trim & Trail	Scale out and raise(trail) your stop.
TV	TradingView
Underlying	An underlying security is a stock, index, bond, interest rate, currency, or commodity on which derivative instruments, such as futures, ETFs, and options, are based.
UOA	Unusual Options Activity
U/G	Upgrade
UTL	Uptrend support line
VOL	Volume
VWAP	Volume Weighed Average Price, a technical indicator. (?)
W	W Bottom, double bottom.
WL	Watchlist
WW	Worth Watching

WTI	West Texas Intermediaries. This is the benchmark of the crude oil that comes from the United States.
YHOD	Yesterdays High of Day
